St. Louis College of Pharmacy invites applications for a tenure-track, calendar year faculty position at the level of assistant, associate, or full professor of medicinal chemistry.   • You will have the chance to create and teach in a new pharmacy curriculum integrating Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmacology, and Therapeutics in the Doctor of Pharmacy Program.   Courses in this sequence focus on disease states and present unique opportunities to collaborate with colleagues in pharmaceutical sciences and pharmacy practice.
  • You will develop one or more upper division elective course(s) in your specialty area for the Pharm. D. curriculum.
  • You will conduct research in your subject area of specialization. There will be opportunities to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams of expert researchers. A modest startup package and research space commensurate with rank is available.
  • Additional responsibilities include providing service through advising students or student organizations, involvement in professional organizations, and service on College committees.

Requirements

Do you have:

  • A Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry with proven excellence and expertise in organic synthesis and/or protein chemistry. Also encouraged: a pharmacy or healthcare background and an interest in inter-disciplinary research.
  • Teaching experience, including experience teaching in an ability-based education model, active learning, team-based learning, and other student-centered learning techniques.
  • Evidence of, or strong potential to develop, an active research program in alignment with College research strategy and needs. Post-doctoral research and/or experience in research programs is a plus.
